Protein Buddy arrives on Android

Protein Buddy is now available on Google Play. The first Android release, version 1.2.0, brings the whole logging loop to Android: photo scan, voice, barcode and manual entry, a personal daily protein target, two-way Health Connect sync, home screen widgets and an ongoing progress notification. It runs on Android 8.0 or later and is free to install.

Protein Buddy 1.3 introduces Protein Scout
Protein Buddy 1.3 is live on the App Store. Its headline feature, Protein Scout, answers the question a protein tracker usually cannot: not what did I eat, but what should I eat next. Photograph a menu, a buffet or the inside of a fridge, and Scout ranks the options in front of you against the protein you have left today.

Privacy: Logging works offline and an account is optional. The log lives on the device, and only the meal being analysed is sent for recognition.

About Protein Buddy

Protein Buddy is a protein-only tracker for iPhone, iPad and Android. It asks for one number a day, the grams of protein you have eaten, sets a personal daily target from a short quiz, and makes each log take seconds by photo, voice, barcode or typing. It does not count calories.

The app is built for people protecting muscle while losing weight or ageing, including people taking GLP-1 medication, rather than for competitive athletes. Logging works offline, an account is optional, and the log lives on the device. Protein Buddy is made by Melloway, Inc.
