Protein Buddy

The assistant in the app

Ask what to eat. It answers for today.

Protein Buddy has an assistant built into the app. It already knows your daily protein goal, what you have logged today and what you ate over the last ten days, so you can ask what to eat for the grams you still need and get one specific answer instead of a list of foods. Pick it and the assistant prepares the log, so nothing has to be typed twice.

Protein Buddy 40g left today

Out for sushi tonight. What should I order for protein?

Skip the rolls: salmon sashimi with a side of edamame is about 40g, and no rice to fill you up. Send me the menu and I'll rank the rest.

Three messages, and it is in your day

  1. Say what the moment is

Out for sushi, five minutes before a meeting, no appetite at all. You do not have to describe your goal or your diet, because the app already sends them with every message.

  2. Get one idea you can act on

Not a list of the same five foods. One realistic choice with the grams to expect, picked from what is actually sold where you are and from what fits the rest of your day.

  3. Log it with one tap

The assistant prepares a log card with the name and the grams filled in. Tap it and the entry lands in your day, where you can still edit or delete it like any other.

What makes the answer yours

It answers for today, not in general

Every message carries a fresh picture of your day, read from your phone. That is why the answer changes at 9 in the morning and at 9 at night, and why it never asks you to repeat yourself.

  • Your daily goal and the grams you still need
  • Everything you have logged today, and the ten days before it
  • Your profile: how you eat, how you train, what you are working toward
  • Your region and time zone, so the food it names is food you can buy
  • No location tracking: it never claims a restaurant is nearby

It can fix what is already logged

Tell it the salad was 25g and not 35, or that you only ate half the bowl, and it shows the correction over the old entry. Nothing changes until you tap Save, and the time and the day stay where they were.

Photos, menus and your voice

Send a photo of your plate and it reads the protein. Send a photo of a menu and it ranks what is on it for the protein you have left, the same ranking Protein Scout does on its own screen. Tap the microphone and speak the message instead of typing it.

Asking costs nothing

The conversation is free. You can ask anything, get an answer, and reach a human on our team without spending anything. What is metered is the work: a log card prepared for you, a food estimate, a photo read, a menu ranked. Those come with a free allowance, and after that they are part of our community.
