Protein Scout reads a photo of a restaurant menu, a buffet or a food display and ranks what is on it by how well each dish fits the protein you still need today. You get a Best fit badge, the protein to expect from each option and the runners up behind it, so ordering takes seconds instead of a guess.
Open the camera in the app, switch to Scout and photograph the menu, the board above the counter, the buffet or the fridge in front of you.
The best fit for the protein you have left comes first, with the protein to expect, then the next choices under it. Options that do not fit how you eat are left out.

Photograph the menu with Protein Scout in the Protein Buddy app. It ranks the dishes on that menu by how well they fit the protein you still need today, marks the best fit and shows the protein to expect from each, so you can order without reading every description.
It reads printed menus, boards above a counter, buffets and food displays, as long as the dish names are legible in the photo. A menu in a language other than yours is fine: the ranking comes back in the language you use the app in.
Yes. Photograph a dish that is already served and Scout answers with that dish and the protein range to expect from it, instead of an empty screen. It does not log it: for that, use the photo button on Home.
No, and that is deliberate. Scout helps you choose before the food exists. Once it is in front of you, one photo from the Home screen logs it, and every Scout screen points at that button.
Every install gets three Scout reads for free, on iPhone, iPad and Android. After those, Scout is part of our community. Barcode scanning and logging by hand stay free and unlimited whatever you decide.
Yes. Send a photo of the menu into the assistant chat and it ranks it there, in the same conversation where you can ask follow up questions about the options.
